Mubarak Egbeyemi is a distinguished partner at our firm and a leading authority in dispute resolution. Mubarak’s expertise spans both litigation and alternative dispute resolution, where he has successfully represented corporate entities, individual clients, and government agencies across all levels of the Nigerian court system. He holds an LLB in Law from the University of Ilorin and an LLM from the University of Lagos, credentials that have been the foundation of his illustrious legal career.
Mubarak began his professional journey at Doyin Rhodes-Vivour & Co., where he developed a deep specialization in alternative dispute resolution, particularly in arbitration, both domestically and internationally. His quest for further growth and experience led him to B. Ayorinde (SAN) & Co., where he honed his advocacy skills under the mentorship of Chief Bolaji Ayorinde SAN, now of B.A. Law LLP.
As a key member of our firm’s Dispute Resolution Department, Mubarak has a remarkable track record of successfully defending clients in high-stakes legal battles. He has effectively represented numerous institutions in landmark lawsuits, including defending the Federal Government of Nigeria in matters pertaining to the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA). Mubarak also served as lead counsel in a high-profile, multi-million-dollar case concerning the taxability of foreign companies at the Court of Appeal, and he represented the Nigerian Press Council in appellate litigation up to the Supreme Court, safeguarding its role as a regulatory body for the press in Nigeria.
Mubarak’s versatility is evident in his ability to manage an impressive caseload, having handled over 300 cases with a remarkable success rate throughout his dynamic career. His prowess extends beyond the courtroom; he was a pivotal member of the legal team representing the Federal Government in arbitration proceedings against a multinational corporation. Additionally, his extensive liaison with various government agencies has fortified his strong working relationships with key Federal Government bodies in Nigeria. Mubarak is also an esteemed associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitration, UK.
Beyond his litigation and arbitration achievements, Mubarak is a prolific writer, contributing numerous articles on arbitration, international conflict management, and mental health in Nigeria. He is currently authoring a significant piece on the urgent need for comprehensive legislation against genital mutilation in Nigeria.
